Abandoned industrial buildings are small treasures worth capturing. They soon will disappear because the Port of Baltimore is going through a transition period; existing business will close or be consolidated.

Even during moonlight, the railroads of the Port of Baltimore are in use. People work tireless through the hot summer days into the humid evenings; transporting goods to businesses and neighboring states. The full moon helps to portray some peace and serenity, but man-made lights illuminate the yard and ensures the cars reach their destination by dawn.

Vessels of all varieties operate and are docked adjacent to any large port of water. The Port of Baltimore is no exception. Many boats, of any size, are used for transportation, salvage operations or moving freight. Typically all vessels are built to last over 30 years, but this particular vessel is at the end of its lifespan. A new fleet of vessels will certainly support the Port of Baltimore and help many residents through the current economic crisis.

Many bridges play key roles in Maryland’s history and these treasures are found throughout the State’s landscape. Baltimore City preserves a strong hold in the steel, imports and the business of traditional manufacturing. Bridges throughout Maryland still support the growing transportation requirements of the Port of Baltimore, a central point where the exchange of trade occurs.

The Port of Baltimore maintains an influx of imports during the economic rise of 2010. Baltimore city preserves a strong hold in the steel, imports and the business of traditional manufacturing. Through sweat, blood and a band of relationships, Baltimore will be well poised to rise and succeed beyond this economic depression. This was awarded 2nd place in the International Photography Awards contest - Editorial - Environmental category for the winning entry "Port of Baltimore II - Trifecta II".
