Eastern Shore, Maryland.
The Eastern Shore consists of the east-side of the major part of the center of the Chesapeake Bay and the Susquehanna River. Commercial east-west ties between Delaware towns and Maryland towns were culturally significant in Colonial and Early American periods despite the border line (which largely cut through woods and swamps). To this day, rivers and streams coexist with ongoing commerce and are a reminder of the peaceful flatland's that still exist.
